I’ve always kept an eye on Technorati founder and CEO David Sifry’s regular reports about the size and scope of the blogosphere. He issued one of his reports last week, concluding that even while taking into consideration spam blogs the number of blogs on the internet is increasing dramatically — at the current rate, the number of blogs is doubling every 5.5. months. Technorati tracks 27.5 million blogs, which produce 1.2 million posts every day. I thought their graph tracking the volume of posts was interesting: the 2004 presidential election, which at the time saw an unprecedented amount of postings, is dwarfed by the number of posts seen recently. Check out his findings here.
