I checked out the National Arboretum here in D.C. with a friend today. I had never been and found it quite enjoyable — there’s lots of gardens to explore and the bonsai exhibit in particular was fascinating. I also didn’t know about the National Capital Columns, a group of Corinthian columns that were removed from the U.S. Capitol in 1958 and placed at the National Arboretum in 1990.

Wow, I had never heard about the columns either. I’ll have to swing by the Arboretum sometime to check them out. Looks pretty cool and kind of surreal.
