Please review this web site

CMT4Austin.org

This proposes a public transit system that would combine
Bus and Taxi-Van. Most miles would be by van.
It would serve low density areas on metro Austin Texas.

Both bus and van would be subsidized.

Labor costs are often the Achilles heel of bus transport in the U.S., especially in low density areas. Also, as Setty and Demery have pointed out, U.S. riders have a different sense of personal space and will not tolerate crowding over a certain level if they have a choice.
