Well thought out review. I too currently use a Treo 650 on Sprint, should be getting the free Ambassador phone in a week or two, and am looking forward to the new Treo 700p (the Palm version that does EVDO). Hopefully when it does Sprint will send us ones to try out? ;)

I just got my phone on Friday, so I haven't had a lot of time with it yet. But my early thoughts are similar to yours. The thing that gets me, besides just the price, is that all the ringtones I've looked at so far expire after 90 days. WTF?
