U-M Law alumni David Boyle has written a ballot initiative which would prohibit the use of alumni preferences in the state's public educational institutions - if he can get the over 300,000 signatures needed to put it on the ballot. T.J. Wharry, a frequent commenter on this website, has asked that I link to a post on his blog about this, where although he says alumni preferences are "just as wrong as race preferences," he supports two exceptions: for siblings of current students, and the offspring of the super-rich.Posted by Rob at 3:00 PM
