Saturday, November 08, 2003The Downtown Development Authority has hired an architect to design a 597-space parking structure to be located at the corner of South First and West William streets. Although I doubt the structure will be mixed-use, it seems somebody at the DDA has heard the new urbanist mantra:
" ... The project is part of a three-phase DDA plan that includes the parking structure, a mixed-use building or series of buildings on the South Ashley Street parking lot and a residential development at South First and West Washington streets. Other details of the project remain to be worked out. ... "
